My original training was in body-oriented psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute. This training emphasized the importance of prenatal and birth experience in the development of self and relationship to others and to the world. I went on to do further training both in the UK, Europe and the States with William Emerson, Ray Castellino and Karlton Terry in prenatal and birth therapy. More recently, I trained as a doula and Calm Birth teacher, in order that I could offer antenatal, labour and postnatal support to mothers and families.

As a holistic birth practitioner, I draw on all the above to provide psycho-emotional support and body work and to facilitate a deeper connection to one’s being. My work is also influenced by training I have done in couples dynamics, sexuality and parent-child therapy. At the heart of my work is the belief that bringing awareness to what is going on is inherently healing, enabling you as client to make more conscious choices and open to healthier relationships with yourself, others and the world.

I am motivated to do this work by my passionate wish to empower women to have a positive and fulfilling experience of pregnancy and birthing their baby. When we can truly take on the life-long impact of birth and the amazing consciousness of the baby, we have an opportunity to heal ourselves and our world at the most profound level.
